NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT SHOULDN'T HAVE BANNED CODEINE

Before the ban on Codeine and Codeine containing cough syrups came into effect, an average of 18,000,000 (18 Million) Bottles of Codeine based cough syrups, were consumed annually.

Statistics show that in 2014, an average of 3 Million bottles of Codeine containing cough syrups were consumed in Kano and Jigawa States alone. At the price of 200 naira per bottle, will put revenue from these Codeine containing cough syrups at 3.6 Billion naira per annum.

... What if, instead of banning, the government imposes a 10% tax on it... Government will be making an average of 360 million a year just from Codein; enough to pay Salary of 1000 workers in a year at minimum wage of 30,000 naira...

.... But they banned it..

.... our government has failed to see an opportunity..

... they have failed to follow the example of Canada in handling Marijuana...

....Or the example of Netherlands in handling Cannabis...

... Yet Codeine is still selling... now outside the purview of Government's Statistics and a subtraction from our national Income through Smuggling...

... Codeine is making us poor and also making our citizens mad...

The truth is that in a world full of challenges and struggles and a paucity of people with the right amount of SELF CONTROL people will always look for something to abuse....

... Cannabis, skunk, Marijuana, purple Kush, Monkeytail, Lizard tail, lizard dung, Cough expectorant, Caffeine containing pain killers, adhesive glue, alcoholic beverages, energy drinks even local herbs...

... Ban all these and they may start sniffing septic tanks...

I must conclude by saying that...

We may have lost the war against illicit drugs in Nigeria.. God help our future generations.

Could this be FACT OR is it just TRASH
